Questions worth asking before you book a new practitioner
A short, practical guide to reading a directory listing and starting a conversation with any wellness provider.
Sample article. Written for the preview. General information only, not medical or nutritional advice.
A directory can help you find people nearby. It cannot tell you who is right for you. Here are some plain questions that make the first conversation easier. This is general information, not medical advice.
Before you get in touch
- What exactly do they offer, and what does a typical session involve?
- Where are they, and is the space accessible for you?
- Do they publish their training or qualifications? Can you see them?
- How do booking, cancellations and payment work?
In the first conversation
1. Describe what you are hoping for in your own words.
2. Ask how they usually work with someone in your situation.
3. Ask what they do not offer, and when they would suggest seeing someone else.
4. Ask how they keep your information private.
A note on your doctor
Many people use wellness services alongside medical care. If you have a health condition, are pregnant, or take regular medication, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting something new. A good practitioner will welcome that.
About dolores listings
In this preview, every listing is a fictional demo. In the finished directory, listings will be written and checked with each provider, and anything a practitioner says about training or credentials will come from them.
